Jan 28 2015 Colour GuardComments from the FOMC sparked a strong sell-off on both Canada and US markets today. What could they have said to create such negative sentiment? Just that it won’t be long before there will be the need to raise interest rates. The TSX fell 231 points or 1.56% and the S&P 500 fell 1.28%. Commodities were hit the hardest. Petroleum stocks weren’t helped by a report by the US Department of Energy today that oil inventories are the highest they’ve been since 1982.
