My thanks to everyone for another valuable and enjoyable International Online User Group Forum on Saturday, December 7th. And, special thanks to our keynote speaker, Bob Turnbull of our Burlington, Ontario User Group for sharing a ton of interesting and innovative ideas for creating an effective trading plan for 2020.
In his presentation, titled The Bull Strategy, The Saga Continues, Bob showed the strong results of his 2019 strategy and explained the changes he’s making to his 2020 Strategy aimed at an even better performance and less time to carry out. Bob’s demonstration of VectorVest’s Performance Graph as a stock selection tool was exceptionally powerful.
Bob stressed that investors should stay within their area of competence and comfort; develop your own written plan; establish measurable goals; have an exit plan; and be patient. “Cash is a position too!”

I’ve been trading the TSX based index ETFs this year after Bob’s presentation in November 2018. I used the 2/5 EMAs for buying and a 6% Trailing Stop for selling. It has worked out very well.
